What is this service?
Silver Mentors Homeshare’ is a unique way of supporting elderly people who need extra help to continue living safely and independently in their own home. We support vulnerable people to be cared for at home and support carers. Homeshare is a way of providing low cost high calibre care and support to individuals who needs to help at home with everyday living. The service involves vetting suitable younger people to live in the home of the older person to provide companionship, safety and security in case of falls and to reduce fear of crime, and to give 10 hours a week of practical help around the home, including help with meal preparation to ensure a good diet. There is a monthly fee for the service from both parties which contributes to the cost of providing the service.
