What is this service?

We offer activities and events for the local community and work with a range of community groups in Lambeth. We have a community access scheme and can offer Neighbour Cards to community groups in Lambeth for free admission to the museum. The museum is housed in a church by Lambeth Bridge and next door to Lambeth Palace. Our tower which is 12th century is the oldest part of the church. We have regular changing exhibitions in the museum and a permanent collection of objects related to gardening. There is a cafe and a garden which has the tomb of the Tradescants, famous 17th century gardeners, and also the tomb of Captain Bligh who took breadfruit plants to the Caribbean. Clay for Dementia is one of the activities we run. These are creative classes for people with dementia and their carers. We can offer other creative activities and have a teaching kitchen where cookery classes are run with our Food Learning Officer.
