What is this service?
Our Day Activities Programme encourages and creates spaces for adults with learning disabilities to have opportunities to try new things, celebrates people’s creativity and promotes independence and communication skills. There are two workshops where this happens:
The Craft Workshop is a creative space for people to explore various arts and crafts activities, as well as create exhibitions that are displayed in our window and the local area throughout the year.
The Garden Workshop enables and empowers people to learn and develop gardening skills, as well as harvesting and cooking skills, both indoors and in their beautiful garden.
We also have a performing arts programme that takes place in both workshops, including music, fitness, storytelling and the drama group who have performed in theatres and churches around London.
The activities assist people to build relationships and friendships, this has a huge impact of health and wellbeing and reduces loneliness and isolation. Friendships and relationships are important to us, we activity create spaces for people to build community including gathering and celebrations. Together, we aim to foster a more inclusive and compassionate world.
