FasterBroadband is focused on helping people overcome the obstacles that prevent them from getting online. These challenges can be financial, technical, or linked to accessibility, and we aim to give households the tools to manage them.
A key part of our work is raising awareness of social broadband tariffs. These are discounted packages for people receiving benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, and Income Support. They can reduce monthly bills to around £12.50, usually with no set up costs and no tie in periods, so households have the flexibility to leave if their circumstances change. Our not for profit comparison service is free to use and highlights these tariffs alongside standard broadband packages.
There are also competitively priced broadband services in Lambeth that are not restricted to benefit eligibility. Community Fibre offers a full fibre connection for £12.50 per month, available to anyone in their coverage area. Other providers such as Hyperoptic and Onestream also operate locally, with a range of affordable packages for residents.
We also provide clear explanations of broadband terms, connection types, and speeds, making it easier for people to compare broadband deals and understand the options available to them.
Accessibility features are built into the website, including large mouse pointers, adjustable text size, reading guides, and colour settings to support people with visual or cognitive needs.
Since 2007, FasterBroadband has supported households across the UK, with particular focus on those most at risk of digital exclusion.
FasterBroadband is an advocate for inclusion and equal access online. As an active member of Disability Rights UK, we are committed to continually improving our broadband support tools so that nobody is excluded. Our services are free to use, free from advertising, and firmly focused on helping people overcome online challenges. Further information can be found in our broadband accessibility support.
